Vandals

During this election cycle, I’ve heard and read of peoples’ concern about their property being vandalized because of their support for Bush, usually in the context of cars being “keyed” because of a bumper sticker, but also the hacking of websites, and the theft or destruction of yard signs (or even a little girl’s sign.)
In this context, talk show host Larry Elder publishes a letter from one of his fans.
Last Thursday I put out one of my Bush/Cheney signs in my front yard. Between midnight and 3:00 a.m. someone stole it. On Friday night I put out sign No. 2. Since I didn’t have to get up early, I thought my dog and I would “stake out” our sign. This time I put the sign a little closer to the gate leading to my backyard. With my dog on an extra long leash, I planted myself on a lawn chair and read “Unfit for Command” by flashlight until about 1:00 a.m. Here comes the fun part . . .
Go read the rest of it (scroll to the last half of the article) and have a good laugh.
HA!
If you’ll remember that I live in Oregon, and read this, you’ll understand why I laughed myself silly over this.
An Open Letter to the Left-Wing Jerk
Cost of Bush signs: $5.95 each
Cost of Flashlight batteries: $3.95/Pack
Seeing a Leftwing Numbskull carted off to the hoosegow: Priceless.
It works both ways. On West Friendly Ave, near Elam Street in Greensboro there’s a homemade yard sign that reads, “Somebody stole our sign, vote for Kerry.”
There have also been numerous incidents of vandalism just as you described committed against Kerry supporters.

And they’re just as wrong, no matter who the victim or the perpetrator is.
It would workd both ways, if it weren’t for the preponderence of conservative victims. Nice try, though. Gotta give ya points for style.
I found this website because I was wondering if other people had had there cars vandalized for putting bumper stickers on their cars. I was really upset that someone out there would take the time to slap a sticker on my car opposing but in reality silencing my opinion. I have tried to listen to many peoples views and it is really disheartening when we are in a society where people lash out rather than agree to disagree.
We are all trying to make informed decisions and if we dont listen to what others have to say we become zombies not Americans.
Please don’t silence others views especially if they oppose your own. By listening, you will probably galvanize your own solid views.
By the way my bumper sticker was a Kerry/ Edwards bumper sticker and this happened on 1/24/05. I took my bumper sticker off after it happened repeatedly three nights in a row. This doesnt make me want to believe in Bush. But it does make me question what is wrong with our country right now.
If you are a republican conservative and read this I really respect that. I voted for John Kerry but I am not a “liberal immoral democrate”. Just a person trying to make their way without being afraid to voice their opinion.
