It’s hard to believe, but it was five years ago today that I brought the lads here to their forever home. Kismet and Packet are such opposites in so many ways, and yet remain best buddies. I’m happy to have them. Sometimes I wonder if the purpose of my existence now is to be the […]

HRSIF* Packet is six years old today. Here he is, celebrating the day in his customary manner: His extreme floofiness is easily mistaken for excess poundage; in fact, he is a couple of pounds lighter than his little brother Kismet. * His Royal, Serene and Imperial Fluffiness.

I turned around from working at the kitchen counter to discover I had some company. Packet is a very stealthy fellow — I never heard him coming. Even his meows are quiet. In this he is very much the opposite of Kismet, who never seems to shut his pie hole.

It was nine years ago this week that I became a cat guy. Mycah and Xaxu came to live with me for a while…. I’ve told their story before. Xaxu has been gone quite a while, and Mycah passed just over a year ago. I miss them both, but I am now privileged to have […]

So, the desk I ordered last week arrived much much sooner than I expected. I was thinking Wednesday, but it came on Monday. The calendar may say one thing or another, but around these parts, we all know April 22nd is Gotcha Day. Kismet and Packet have been with me for four years now, and I’ve loved every bit of it. And they clearly still love each other. Here’s hoping I have many more years with the lads. […]

My handsome fluffy lad turns five years old today. It’s kind of hard to believe. Tuna will be making an appearance later today… after the boys have their annual vet checkups.

Monday night was full of excitement for at least one member of this household. It was about 8:30, well after dark, when I went downstairs to retrieve a box that I knew was waiting for me outside my front door. As usual, the cats followed me downstairs. As I cracked open the front door, Kismet […]

Simon’s Cat demonstrates the truth about working at home with cats present. I know this is true because, every day since I restructured my work area to give my two computers more desktop real estate, I have had what might be referred to as visitations, much like what Simon’s Cat demonstrates. In a feline parallel […]

Earth Day? No. Good Friday? Emphatically yes. Bonus? It was three years ago today that I brought home two of the best things I have ever had in my life, Packet and Kismet. (The senior kitteh, Mycah, came several years before.) I’m pretty sure I’d give up everything before I would part with these little […]
