Changes

2001: with the downturn in the market that started the previous year, there were plenty of unemployed tech-heads… but I survived.
2004: I join the ranks of the unemployed. 7+ years on the job – that’s long enough, one way or another.
More later.
(Anyone want to hire a network engineer? CCIE, too…. :-)

  1. Russ – use this email, send us a resume’. Both Beth and I work for tech firms that use virtual employees and are expanding, not contracting.
No guarantees, but hey, if you don’t ask the answer is no, right?

  2. Anyone need a network engineer?

One’s suddenly available. Let’s see if the power of the blogosphere can help Russ at TacJammer out….

  3. Not Quite as Great News. Pretty Horrid, Actually.

Anybody need a Network Engineer? It just so happens that the Glorious Empire has one available all of a sudden,…

I’m sorry to hear about your setback. With as much tech “stuff” that goes on in the Triangle, I’m optimistic that you will get several opportunities to choose from. A Cisco “master” should be a valuable member of any network team.

Russ, I’ve no idea what part of the country you’re in, or if you’re willing to relocate, but Lexis-Nexis has some technical openings.
Go to http://www.lexis-nexis.com/employment and there’s a search & apply for open positions option.
    Good luck!

Are you anywhere near greater Los Angeles? Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman are hiring.

Nice blog, BTW. I came over from Misha’s place in a hurry, because he said you were looking for job leads. Now that I’ve had a chance to look around, I see you’re in North Carolina. You lucky, lucky man! You’d be out of your mind to pull up stakes for the hellhole that is southern California. (Mind you, I love it here, but it’s still a hellhole. Los Angeles and I have what you might call a dysfunctional co-dependent relationship.)
Good luck with the job hunt. You might check the Web sites of the above-mentioned large defense contractors anyway, just to see what they have by way of job openings. I hope something pans out for you soon!

Rats, I hate it when I forget to close my tags! Sorry about that.

  8. I kind of get a thrill when a girl accidentally leaves one of her tags undone…

It’s one of the highlights of my day!
