An almost perfect 2012 campaign theme song?

It’s called “Take It Back” by Miracle of Sound (whose music I’ve linked before.) It’s got a made-of-awesome beat, and you could probably even dance to it.
But the lyrics — which are actually about the situation the gamer faces in Mass Effect 3 — might just possibly be read an altogether different way…
When you’re stumbling through the darkness walking blind
Don’t forget that there is always hope to findChoose your path
Walk it well
Save us from this living hell
In this broken cage
We will not be confinedAnd when the world it starts to burn
At the point of no return
Keep a hold of your conviction
Tear out the affliction
And before the world turns black*Stand up and take it back!!
As the towers of steel and stone crumble to dust
The foundations of our hope begin to rustChoking fear
Screaming sound
As a Reaper comes to ground
You turn to face it down
Because you mustAnd when the world it starts to burn
At the point of no return
Keep a hold of your conviction
Tear out the affliction
And before the world turns black**Stand up and take it back!!
Et cetera. A few minor lyric tweaks, and it’d be perfect.
It seems to me that there can be no doubt whatsoever that 2012 could be a point of no return for our nation.
Who or what I imagine the affliction in the song could possibly be, I’ll leave to your powers of deduction.
But face it/him/them down we must — because without a sound, strong United States, the world may indeed burn. And there is not a single doubt in my mind that a weak and feeble US is their objective.
I kid not even a little.
* By “black,” of course, the song refers to the world burning. You know, ashes, cinders and such. Racist.
** Ditto. Racist.
