Colchicine

Some of the side effects of the gout remedy colchicine:

Vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea may occur with colchicine therapy, especially when maximal doses are necessary for a therapeutic effect.

Or, in other words:

Everybody out! Two exits! No waiting!

I feel like I’ve been through a wringer. But it’s still better than the gout pain.

Love that feeling of needing two exits on the john at the same time..LOL I feel for ya, but I have one question, how badly does a change in weather effect your Gout? I have gout and 2 other kinds of arthur. Seems weather brings on one kind, and gout gets pissed and has to join the party.

I’ve never had the weather affect my gout, but then it only hit me for the first time last year. I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunity for the weather to have an effect.
Where I do feel the weather, though, is in my knees, hips, and a spot in my foot where I broke a bone about 15 years ago.

  3. You’re not really taking colchicine are you? Indomethacin isn’t nearly as harsh, though it too produces the same side effects. If flare ups persist ask your doctor about starting up with Allopurinol to reduce the uric acid in your bloodstream. I’ve been on it for years now and it definitely does help reduce the frequency and seriousness of the attacks.
I don’t think the weather has much impact on gout, though it may certainly affect other types of arthritis.
I feel you pain, my man.
