Rhymes With “Schmuck-abee”

It’s not a surprise to long-time readers that I am completely unsupportive of the presence on the national political stage of former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee. He might be a nice guy, but as an executive he’s a disaster.
Proponents of the nanny state can be found on both sides of the aisle — Huckabee exemplifies this, as well as a vacuous style of governing from the heart rather than the head. To be honest, I’m kind of surprised he’s with the GOP. Were it not for the abortion issue, I suspect he’d have anchored himself in the Democrat harbor long ago.
And now we have another example of his compulsion to interefere in peoples’ lives for their own good: Huckabee on child nutrition: I must side with Michelle Obama over Sarah Palin
When someone tries to compel me to do something because it’s what he thinks is best for me, I get a sudden desire to reach for a gun.
Huckabee should stick with what he’s best at: eating donuts and doing folksy TV shows with the occasional first-rate guest musician dialing back their output so that Huck on bass can keep up.
