Something Evil is Afoot

I’ve had knee problems for the past several months. I blame my “jumping out of helicopter” years.
My sciatica, a result of the old Army back injury, has been unrelenting of late, as well.
Plus there was a gout attack last week — smoked meat can bring it on, and, well, my barbecue will not be denied. The pain was the price I paid for forgetting to get my Allopurinol prescription refilled.
And now… I broke a #^$%@*! toe last night.
I consider it a miracle of near-biblical proportions that I can walk at all, these days.
Broken toe = pain. Found that out when a frozen (whole) chicken fell from the freezer and broke one. It was a comedy to everyone but me. Wounded by a chicken. LMAO
My own mishap was due to a disagreement between me and a piece of furniture. I wanted to walk in a certain direction, and it refused to move out of the way, undoubtedly out of sheer bloody-mindedness.
It wouldn’t be so bad, but I did it in front of my young niece and nephew, thus adding to the Stupid Factor. At least I didn’t cuss out loud.
You sound like a walking basket case. I didn’t raise you to take that on as an occupation!!!
OUCH! Toe pain is no fun. I’m just getting over a gout-attack on my left toe. It took a few weeks before it started to feel better, then I had a relapse (tried to do too much?) that set me back another week or so. Gout sucks.
Although not as powerful in anti-oxidants as the sour variety, I have been partaking of the recent fresh sweet cherry crop after finding them at $3/lb. I’ve just about sworn off of smoked meat (particularly pork) and try to limit my beef intake, but just chicken gets old after awhile.
Hope you get to feeling better.
