Wednesday evening as I had my dinner, I noticed that a tooth was a bit sore when I bit down; by my usual bedtime, it was hurting badly enough so that I couldn’t sleep. Despite the application of some painkillers I had left over from a previous incident, I only managed about two hours of shuteye.
I don’t operate well on less than five hours of sleep; I was in a fog most of the day yesterday. I called the dentist first thing in the morning — they can’t get me in until 8am Monday. Superb.
I managed to eat some scrambled eggs for breakfast. Nothing since then, though — the mere thought of chewing hurts.
I pulled my usual work shift; fortunately, nothing requiring a lot of thought crossed my desk. As soon as I finished work I fed the cats, medicated myself, and went to bed. I think I managed to get about six hours of sleep, before the meds wore off and I woke up. Ouch.
The first thing I did this morning was call the dentist again. Now I know why they can’t see me today: they’re taking today off while their plumbing is being worked on. Marvelous.
The leftover painkillers will last until Sunday night… if I take one a day. I have exactly three tablets remaining.
This weekend is going to be miserable.
