Mubarak Quits

Just pondering….

In how many Middle East countries would the government/military be as restrained as in Egypt? How many would follow orders to shoot protesters? We can already put Iran on that list… I’d guess the number might be pretty high.

Anything that makes the Saudi oil ticks nervous is likely to be bad in the short term but maybe, just maybe, good in the long term.

Mubarak is like 400, maybe 450 years old and has jet-black hair. Seriously, how much Kiwi does he use?

It looks like the entire population of Egypt is in the streets. It’d be a bit interesting to find out what kind of hit their economy is taking from this.

I would point out the irony of Obama saying Mubarak should listen to the Egyptian people marching in the streets, but I’d be about the millionth person to make that observation out loud.

Hello, Castro…?

Is Mubarak really retiring, or is he now going to go sign with the NY Jets?

Happy Birthday

I shook his hand at a campaign stop at Wheaton College in 1980. He was the first man for whom I ever voted. Ronald Reagan, arguably the greatest president of the 20th century, would have turned 100 today.

We could surely use more of his kind today.
