It’s something like a week and a half since the Democrat members of the Wisconsin state senate went missing, having fled across the border to Illinois in order to avoid losing a vote.
Elections have consequences. They lost the statehouse; they’re in the minority, they’re going to lose votes. At the rate they’re going, though, some will assuredly lose their next elections.
Their lack of respect for the democratic process is a wonder to behold. The only surprise is that they didn’t go all the way to Skokie.
Heroes, they ain’t.

I’ve been playing quite a bit of Mass Effect 2 lately. I’ve beaten it at the “veteran” level, but “hardcore” and “insanity” wins still elude me. I don’t intend to review the game here — that’s been done all over the place, but you could do worse than to check out the G4TV X-Play review.
When gaming, I usually tend to stick with strategy, 1st-person shooters, and flight or naval combat sims; I haven’t played an RPG since Dungeons & Dragons with paper and dice 30-some-odd years ago. I don’t remember what it was that caught my eye, twisted my arm and forced me to lay out the cash for it, but I’ve found ME2 to be thoroughly addictive, and a terrific value in terms of hours of enjoyment. I’m looking forward to ME3, due out at the end of the year.
Kismet, who takes great and frequent joy in chasing things that move on my monitors, has decided to join in. At such times, his tail slashes back and forth, and in this case was moving the mouse and clicking buttons.
Fortunately, I had a recent save, so he did no damage.
