Happy Birthday, Comrade!
I'm glad you're, uh, gladdened by the medical news. But despite all circumstances, we should never lose hope--the Dear Leader is on our side!

(Now there's something to be sad about....)

OTOH, birthday or not, they're clearly after your Internet job--watch out! Cisco Certification is _nothing_ compared with Juche Networking!

Actually, they're celebrating your birthday here.

(Okay, NO MORE. I'm very happy due to the diag-/prog-nosis, and because it's a great birthday gift for you, but I've tons of real work to do. Celebration over--for now. :) )

I meant ONE more: good clips for anyone looking for a deeper understanding of the North Korean regime, and why it's best to understand as an economically and morally disastrous but politically successful (in its true goal of protecting and enriching the Kim dynasty) atheistic religious cult--who needs God when you have a completely powerful and insular police state, all headed by the man who's better than God, Kim Jong Il? :( (Kim Il Sung's parents were, as I recall, serious Christians--he rejected their faith and God utterly, but adopted and adapted some of their methods, appointing himself, in effect, God, with Kim Jong Il his beloved Son.)

Dang it--always right after I post. This is a better link to a bigger chunk of video (though from a different program).

Heartbreaking. :(
Okay--enough about the Dear Leader today. Maybe it's better he doesn't wish you a Happy Birthday after all... (Sorry about this, Russ! The peril of North Korea jokes is that one might be inadvertently reminded of reality, rather breaking the mood.)

A day late to the party, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I've got you by three years. Hope you had a chance to celebrate with some tender, lovingly prepared pork products, even if it's from Smithfields.
Praise God for the prognosis, and continued prayer to guide the surgeons' hands so that you'll be on your way to a full recovery.
