You wanna protect something important? Why don't you go to Walter Reed and protect the men and women who served this country from getting sub-standard health care and medical coverage rather than waste your time on this "Britney Spears" wannabe, fashion statement, empty meaning nonsense to make yourself "appear" patriotic when its all show and no substance as usual. Stick with your usual support of your troops and just send the cheesy, cheap yellow ribbon magnet that was made in China. No sense in changing your usual support now.

I have done. Seven years in uniform, protecting the important and the unimportant. People who appreciated it, and people who didn't. I can guess which of the latter two categories you fall into.

I don't have to "appear" patriotic. I am patriotic, and I've nothing to prove to an ass such as yourself, who wouldn't recognize real patriotism if it walked up to him wearing a big nametag saying "Hi, my name is Patriotism" and verbally announcing itself before punching you square in the nose.
Cheap, showy displays of patriotism may be cheap. They may be showy. But they are displays of patriotism — which, I'll wager, is more than you've ever done.

If I could skip work and head up to DC with my fellow veterans, I'd be there. I may yet take the day off and do just that. We'll see.
But since I have responsibilities which are no doubt far greater than yours (probably manning the night desk at the Hilton hotel in Memphis, TN — ooo, Russ knows how to use IP tools!) it might not be possible. See, someone has to keep the Internet running during the nights and over the weekends, even if that means vermin like you can spew your hate, and thankfully it's up to people like me rather than people like you.

I, for one, want to thank you for serving our country so the rest of us can enjoy the freedoms we do. Yes, I'm one of those cheesy supporters but I'm not sending you my yellow ribbon magnet . . . I'm keeping it for myself. But, thank you for all you've done and continue to do.

Hey, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. You're right — I'm angry about the conditions at the Walter Reed outpatient center. There's a chain of command to be mad at, and the exact right thing has already happened — the commander has been relieved, which is death to a military career.

But do not dare to equate the condition of a building to the treatment our wounded soldiers receive. I've spent time as a patient in Army hospitals, more than once. The care was better than you might think. But I suppose caring about soldiers is somewhat beyond your capacity. You don't actually care about the people at Walter Reed, except so far as they give you an opportunity to kvetch and complain. Well, get bent, pal. Your kind of care we can all do without.

Well, I was fortunate enough to spend a couple of years on the DMZ in Korea, paying taxes the whole time, in fact. I'm so sorry there wasn't a "hot" war at the time. And I apologize that I didn't get my ass shot at... not more than once, anyway.

Perhaps you're weak, or possibly you're too dumb to pass the qualification tests, or because you're lazy. Or maybe you're just a coward who sees nothing more important than preserving his own miserable skin, and is willing to let better men stand between him and harm.
All the while, back-stabbing those who fight over seas to carry on the acolyte cause because you fail to think for yourself. Call me a troll? Thats a compliment acolyte of the measley 30%.
