Our rulers in robes, the Supreme Court of the United States, having just effectively destroyed the right to private property, must be overruled.
The President should get out in public — now — and propose legislation to protect property owners from legalized theft eminent domain seizures designed to benefit private parties. This is a Federal civil rights issue at least as important as the right to free speech.
This assumes, of course, that the Legislative and Executive branches are actually co-equal to the Judicial branch, in practice as well as in theory.
Mighty big assumption, that.
I wonder now how long it will be until the Tree of Liberty gets the watering that it apparently needs? I think that sad day has come more than just a little bit closer.

Update, 3:42pm: Shep Smith on FoxNews just now, at the end of a story on this abominable ruling, closed the item with the line "Molly Henneburg, reporting live from Havana... I mean, uh, Washington." Make of it what you will.

Seems to me that a Constitutional Amendment may be the only fix.

That would be second-to-last option for preserving our rights, Jim. Spell it out clear & in the Constitution that ED cannot be used to transfer private property to another private owner. It seems that an awful lot of folks in the blogosphere, both left & right, consider this as reason to unlock the safety cover on the reset button. Hopefully the Soap Box & the Ballot Box are all that are needed to over turn this, and that we don't need to open the final box used in protecting our rights.

Well said. Nevertheless, I have an urge to inventory my ammo and take a trip to the range this weekend, just to brush up.

It's either very dark days ahead, or the bitch-slap wakeup call the sheeple need to break out of the herds.
But wolves abound, and I figured adding another 1,000 rounds to the ship's locker was not ill advised.

Yeah, I'll be topping off my stocks as well, next paycheck. Hopefully no one will kick things off in the next couple of weeks... :-p (Now I regret having such an assortment of weird calibers in my gun collection... Anyone know where I can cheaply stock up on 7.62 Nagant?)
