I believe the technical term for this is “making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.” Not, of course, that Limbaugh’s comments that started the whole brouhaha could actually be classed as “sow’s ear” by anyone who actually heard what he said at the outset. Harry Reid, though, is just a self-serving opportunistic pig.
